Debug'd: Dash and Dot is an inclusive coding curriculum for all students regardless of challenges -- cognitive, communication, physical and other complex learning needs -- for the Dash and Dot teaching robots (by Wonder Workshop).
With digital, printed and ready-to-print activities and instructional strategies, debug'd includes every student in meaningful participation through:
- explicit instruction,
- differentiated strategies,
- visual materials and
- real-world connections.

Training
The debug'd with Dash and Dot Implementation Course is an asynchronous, web-delivered course that will introduce educators to the scope and sequence of the curriculum and an appreciation of how the scaffolded lessons and adapted materials support student learning. The kit and course have been designed to support teachers who are new to coding, teachers who are new to providing a UDL approach to instruction and of course, students who have complex learning needs.
All modules incorporate interactive elements to engage participants actively in their learning. Opportunities are given to pause to complete a reflection or a task before starting the next part of the module. Modules have been designed to allow for flexible periods of engagement, based on teachers' schedules.
The course is divided into four recorded modules:
1. What is debug'd?
- We explore all the components of the kit and how each supports learning for students who have complex needs.
2. Unpacking and Assembling the debug'd Kit
- We take a close look at the printed/digital resources and provide a method for assembling and organizing materials.
3. Foundational and Coding Concepts
- We provide an exploration of the foundational and coding concepts covered, connecting them with instructional materials.
4. A lesson in detail - Hands-On With debug'd!
- We offer hands-on exploration of a lesson using the robots and support materials.
